Premium Rush is a movie about a bike messenger in Mahattan named Wilee found himself in some serious trouble when he took on a delivery job from a Chinese lady. And yeah the rest of the show is pretty much about how he ride his way through the trouble.
I’m sorry but this movie is really bad. I’d like to think that the movie and plot itself is really bad there’s nothing much the actors and actresses can do to help it better even if it’s JGL. I didn’t enjoy it. And worse still, the fact that the movie seems to suggest that bike messenger is pretty much a job for bike delinquent to continue being bike delinquent while earning money is really bothering me. The plot is one big cliche. The Innocent good guy somehow got involve and make a heroic break out for it. The corrupted cop and the Chintatown gangsters. Movie itself is a poor and lazy output of that plot. Definitely not recommended unless you really just love seeing JGL.
Brave is a story of a princess named Merida who seeks freedom and doesn’t want to be subjected to the Kingdom’s custom and tradition. She defies her mother and want to live her life out of her own free will. So she set out to find spell to change her mother’s mind. However, things went awfully wrong. The spell turned out to be a curse and Merida has to fight her way through to find the cure for the curse.
I really enjoy the movie. I think the animation is great and character design are unique. I know the plot is pretty straightforward but I feel the voice acting and animation is so well done that I find it very touching at the emotional scene. Basically, Brave gives me everything from laughter to tears. Definitely a good movie choice for Friday night relaxation.
Finally, I get to see the Best Motion Picture of 2012. The famous Argo acted and directed by Ben Affleck. Argo is a story about an ex-filtration specialist, played by Ben Affleck, takes on a what considered to be impossible job of extracting 6 American fugitives out of a revolutionary Iran. Argo is good movie, full of clever and witty conversations but definitely not a Best Motion Picture of the year for me. Anyway, oh well, looking at the Oscar nominee line up for 2012, I can see why Argo won it.
The film, the set, and casts seems very realistic and documentary. It’s also very intense. That’s what I like about it. The show keep me wondering who the hell do them film it. A great job from Ben Affleck in both acting and directing. This guy is epic. Alan Arkin is also great in the movie. Very deserving for his oscar nominee in supporting role.
All in all, Argo is a great and intense movie. Great if you’re looking for something realistic and serious. However, some may find it too American for their taste. I know I did.
Hotel Transilvania is a movie about a Dracula daddy who’s very protective of his daughter of human especially. So much so that he built a castle-like hotel for monster only and is complete shielded from human. However, things don’t go the way he want it to be because of his daughter’s curiosity in the outside world beyond the castle-like hotel and all the old monsters. The whole movie is pretty much about over protectiveness of a parent and the rebelliousness of a teenage child. Adam Sandler who voices Dracula is the over protective dad character and Mavis, voiced by Selena Gomez, is the rebellious teenage daughter who wants to get out of the castle and experience the world despite the ugly picture fictionally painted to her by his dad.
Hotel Transilvania is a pretty light-hearted 3D comedy. Nothing special but probably a good show to relax your brain after a long stressful day of work.
Saw this movie on Netflix. The plot summary on IMDB goes “During the summer of 1979, a group of friends witness a train crash and investigate subsequent unexplained events in their small town.” It’s about a group of friends, young boys and girl who witnessed an epic train accident and got out of it alive. After that many strange events entail and before they know it sh*t going down. Before I click on play, I didn’t have an expectation on this movie whatsoever. All I knew was that it has a pretty good rating on IMDB and Spieldberg had his hand in it. It turns out great. I like it.
Despite all the seriousness and horror that struck in the movie, I somehow find this relaxing and enjoyable. I think it’s more or less because it has something to do the main characters being a bunch of kids. If there’s anything I took away from movie, 1 of it would be when the main characters is a group of kids nothing would kills them. Mostly would just scare the hell out of them. With that knowledge, the movie is pretty much like a roller coaster ride to me. It’s exciting, thrilling and scary but at the end of the day, you know you’d be arriving safely at the end. It’s a good adventure.
There’s not many movie in this genre are in my favorite list. This is probably one of the few that I would recommend to people. Attack the Block is still on top of my list.
This is the 2nd installment of the G.I. Joe which continues from where it left off previously. I think it’s awesome. We see some new Joes in the team including Lady Jay (played byAdrianne Palicki), Roadblock (played by Dwayne Johnson), Jinx (played by Elodie Yung) and Joe (played by Bruce Willis). The 2nd installment revolve around the return of Cobra, the fall of G.I. Joe, and the call for general Joe to be back on the team. In this movie, there’s more or less no action from Cobra himself for obvious reason. He’s locked up. Most of the action from the bad guys are Storm Shadow, Firefly and Zatan.
My favorite part of the show has to the ninja fighting scene in the mountain where Snake Eyes and Jinx battles a bunch of ninjas. Also quite number of highlights on some really cool guns and other weapons. However, I think most of the actions scenes are kinda short and thus gives me the feeling like they are rushing it. So I would prefer it they drag it a bit and make little more dramatic. Another thing that I find disappointing is that apparently in this movie, Bruce Willis is just there to show face so that they can have his name on the movie poster. He practically didn’t really do much action in there. I’m not sure if this is a spoiler but I feel that it has to be said because for some people who, like me, went to the show expecting some crazy Bruce Willis doing his things would find this a rather big let down. Thumbs up to Storm Shadow and Snake Eye, they are the two that keep the cool and epic factor in the show for me.
All in all, a good attempt but again, I was really expecting more from the trailer. My only wish is that the movie could have been more extended with more action, longer and more drama battle and fighting scenes. Though I rate it low but it’s definitely a cool movie to check out.
